Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu province, is the only provincial capital in China where the Yellow River flows through the city. In recent years, Lanzhou has been continuously improving the ecological environment along banks of the Yellow River, striving to transform it into a "river of happiness" that satisfies its residents.
In early winter, birds dance gracefully along the riverbanks, boats cruise on the water, bridges span the river, and pavilions nestle among golden foliage, creating a picturesque scene.
The Yellow River's main stream stretches 150.7 kilometers through Lanzhou, with 47.5 kilometers running through the urban area. The river serves as a crucial source of drinking water for the city.
