A full moon lighted up the sky of the Yangguan Pass in the Gobi Desert in Dunhaung, Gansu province on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival that fell on Sept 10.
The bright glow of the moonlight hovered over the ancient city, donning a gauze veil to this renowned scenic spot and adding to its fascinating charm.
Located on the ancient Silk Road, the Yangguan Pass is the last stop where Chinese merchants got stamps on their passports and other identification documents and left for foreign countries.
