Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone

Established in 1994, Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as the national economic and technological development zone by the State Council in March 2013. It covers an area of 93.73 square kilometers and the built-up area is about 30 square kilometers, including ecological science and technology industrial park, circular economy demonstration park, agricultural products industrial park, intelligent manufacturing industrial park and big data industrial park and coal chemical industry park, which accounts for one-fifth of the city’s total economic volume.

The ecological science and technology industrial park situates at northeast suburb of Ganzhou district with planning area of 13.35 square kilometers, involving high-tech industry and agricultural and sideline products processing industry. It currently has 200,000 square meters of standardized plants, 10,000 square meters of entrepreneurship building, 9,400 square meters of expert apartment and 38,000 square meters of technological incubation building as well as equips with perfect supporting infrastructure such as roads, water and power supply systems and sewerage system. Its green coverage rate reaches more than 35 percent. The industrial park has attracted many enterprises to settle down such as Hexi Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd and Aolinbeier.

The circular economy demonstration park situates at Ganzhou district with planning area of 33.89 square kilometers, involving comprehensive energy, new materials, biological medicine, emerging chemical industry and characteristic light industry. It has built supporting  infrastructure such as roads, converting station, industrial sewage treatment system, gas (heat) supply systems and so on. It has attracted more than 20 enterprises to settle down, including Zhangye Dagong Pesticide Chemistry Co.,Ltd and Sanyi Chemical Trade Co., Ltd.

The agricultural products industrial park situates at Ganjun town of Ganzhou district with planning area of 31.78 square kilometers, including metallurgical and building materials industrial zone with planning area of 7.48 square kilometers and Bajitan agricultural products industrial zone with planning area of 24.3 square kilometers.

The intelligent manufacturing industrial park and big data industrial park situates at Binhe district of Ganzhou district, with planning area of 4.35 square kilometers. The intelligent manufacturing industrial park has built 500, 000 square meters of standardized plants, sci-tech research and development center, administration building and staff apartment building. It equips with perfect supporting infrastructure, attracting 28 enterprises to settle down and more than 40 enterprises to sign contracts with the industrial park. The big data industrial park covers an area of 92.07 hectares, planning to build comprehensive building, data center, business complex building and industrial factory buildings. It currently has built 12,500 square meters of comprehensive building and 11,900 square meters of data center.

The coal chemical industry park situates at the village of Mongolian ethnic group in Ganzhou district with short-term planning area of 10 square kilometers and long-term planning area of 40 square kilometers, involving wind electricity, synthetic natural gas and comprehensive development and utilization of coal resources.

Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone has been approved as Green Industrial Park of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), national demonstration and pilot park for recycling transformation, national small and micro enterprise entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration base and national-level service space for innovators. It was approved by Gansu Province as the province’s circular economy demonstration park, new-type industrialization demonstration base, agricultural industrialization demonstration base and provincial incubation base for medium-sized and small enterprises. It also was awarded as the province’s top 10 development zones and advanced parks for attracting investment by Gansu provincial government and was recognized as provincial high-tech industrial development zone.
