More than a hundred paragliders jumped off a mountain in Yongjing county, Gansu province on Tuesday, after which they navigated their path and floated to the ground near a reservoir, enjoying a fantastic view throughout the flight under their special canopies.
They were attending a national paragliding league that kicked off on Tuesday and will last three days in Yongjing of Gansu.
The "Shengjing Mountain Cup" 2023 National Paragliding Fixed-point League started in June and will last till September, during which competitions will be held in Wenzhou of Zhejiang province, Yongjing of Gansu, Ganzhou of Jiangxi province and Jingzhou of Hubei province, according to a notice in May by the air traffic control center of the General Administration of Sport.
The competition in Yongjing was held at Liujiaxia International Paragliding Camp, located at the northern bank of the local Liujiaxia Reservoir.
The paragliders take off from Huangjia Mountain at an altitude of 2,300 meters, and land at Weijiapo - a scenic area near the reservoir with an altitude of 1,720 meters.
The campground can allow 20 tandem parachutes to take off at the same time, being one of the largest paragliding camps in the country, according to local government.
