On Oct 12, 2024, the West District Park in Minle county, Zhangye, Gansu province, was ablaze with autumn colors. Snow-capped mountains, trees, pavilions, lakes, and the cityscape combined to create a stunning autumn scene, attracting many residents for sightseeing and leisure.
On Oct 9, the Qilian Mountains National Park, specifically in the Dahe township section of Sunan Yugur autonomous county, Zhangye, Gansu province, presented a breathtaking autumnal spectacle.
The 2024 National Day holiday saw Gansu province welcoming 26.21 million tourists, and generating tourism revenue of 16.08 billion yuan ($2.23 billion). These figures represent year-on-year increases of 15.4 percent and 18.8 percent respectively. Throughout the province, a festive atmosphere prevailed, with diverse tourism products and a thriving, orderly market.
Sunan Yugur autonomous county, located in the central Hexi Corridor at the northern foot of Qilian Mountains, is China's only Yugur autonomous county. It serves as a crucial ecological barrier and genetic repository for western China, making it one of Gansu's natural treasures.
The 7th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo was successfully held in Dunhuang from September 20 to 22. This grand event deepened cultural exchanges and boosted the Belt and Road Initiative while showcasing Gansu's new image and consolidating new development momentum.
