Su Dongpo cultural exhibition kicks off in Tianhe

A cultural exhibition focusing on Chinese poet Su Shi (1037-1101), also known as Su Dongpo, was held in Tianhe district, Guangzhou from Oct 30 to Nov 13.

The exhibition, jointly hosted by the publicity department of the CPC Tianhe District Committee and the Guangdong Su Dongpo Association, displayed more than 110 paintings, calligraphy works and utensils by famous artists in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties as well as modern times.

Su Dongpo was a well-known politician, artist, traveler and cook in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), and was the most esteemed literati at the time. He not only had versatile artistic achievements but also an open-minded attitude towards life.
