Tianhe prepares rich cultural activities for Spring Festival

To enrich the cultural lives of people and create a festive atmosphere for this year's Spring Festival, public cultural institutions in Tianhe district have prepared a variety of cultural activities.

Guangdong Cultural Center

A digital culture promotion activity is taking place both online and offline at all-level cultural centers in Guangdong province from Jan 10 to Feb 28. People can take part in activities like making traditional food, learning paper cutting and bamboo weaving, as well as watching street parades on-site.

Guangdong Museum

The exhibition showcasing more than 400 pieces or sets of cultural relics, compositions, and art works related to A Dream of Red Mansions is taking place at the museum until Feb 15.

The traditional custom-themed painting exhibition is ongoing until Feb 16, while the Chinese spirits culture exhibition will take place until April 10.

In addition, various activities like clay figurines and colored drawing experiences will be carried out during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 31 to Feb 6.

Guangzhou Library

The exhibition showcasing the art works and diaries by Wang Huangsheng related to his visit to the source of the Pearl River in 1984 and 2020 is taking place at the library until Feb 20.

A documentary image exhibition is being held at the library until Feb 18 to commemorate the Cantonese Opera legend Hung Sin-nui (1924-2013). An activity will be carried out on Feb 13 to introduce the origin and the customs of the Lantern Festival.

Guangzhou Opera House

A New Orleans swing jazz concert led by Joe Longardner will be staged on Feb 13.

South China Botanical Garden

Exhibitions showcasing peonies and plants for the Year of the Tiger will run until Feb 23, while a series of cultural popularization activities will be held from Jan 31 to Feb 6.

Guangzhou Book Center

A cultural exhibition for the Winter Olympics will be held until Feb 10, while a paper cutting exhibition will last until Feb 15.
