Hong Kong-funded eye hospital settles in Tianhe
The C-MER (Guangzhou) Dennis Lam Eye Hospital, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based C-MER Eye Care Holdings Limited, was put into operation in Tianhe district, Guangzhou on March 18. It is the first collaborative ophthalmology project between Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

The eye hospital has 50 patient beds and four surgical rooms and is roughly 5,400 square meters in size. In addition to medical personnel, it has formed an international advisory board with 18 international ophthalmology experts from 10 countries and regions.
"The eye hospital mainly focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases like cataracts, glaucoma and maculopathy, refractive correction, as well as prevention and control of juvenile myopia," said Lam Shun Chiu, founder of C-MER Eye Care Holdings Limited.

Lam added that the special clinic of the hospital has rich experience in the technical treatment of pediatric congenital cataracts, pediatric albinism, and genetic eye diseases. It will provide high-end eye health services to citizens in Guangzhou and surrounding areas.
C-MER Eye Care Holdings Limited was built in 2012, and established the first Hong Kong privately-owned eye hospital on the Chinese mainland under CEPA and Shenzhen C-MER Dennis Lam Eye Hospital in March 2013. It now has opened five hospitals in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including Zhuhai, Huizhou and Shenzhen.
