The 2022 South China Book Festival & Yangcheng Book Fair will take place from Aug 19 to 22, with one online platform, 16 featured venues, and 53 offline sub-venues.

A joint exhibition themed "reading the new era" will be held on the online platform, while exhibitions showcasing publications welcoming the 20th CPC National Congress will be set up at offline bookstores around Guangzhou.

A discount of 20 percent for all books, with some exceptions on specific books, will be offered by all the bookstores participating in the festival. A book barter special zone will be set up at the Guangzhou Book Center, advocating the concept of green and healthy reading.

According to the Guangzhou reading map that this year's book festival launched, 11 culture-themed tour routes have been created, allowing people to quickly see where Guangzhou's characteristic reading spaces and exhibition spaces are located.

The first batch of co-construction sites and demonstration sites in Guangzhou for nationwide reading will also be released at the opening ceremony of the book festival. This aims to encourage public spaces like industrial parks, campuses, and commercial complexes to offer study sites, explore the "reading +" model, as well as strengthen their integrated development with drama, intangible cultural heritage items, tourism, tea art, and the internet.

In addition, several renowned writers and 18 young writers, including Mao Dun Literature Prize winner Liu Zhenyun, will attend the online and offline reading activities, which include signing sessions, new book launches, as well as reading sharing sessions.
