Two universities in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, namely South China Agricultural University and South China Normal University, were included in the first batch of 100 national institutes of innovation and entrepreneurship that was recently announced by the Ministry of Education.

A total of six universities and colleges in Guangdong province made the list.

South China Agricultural University has been taking the lead in cultivating modern innovative and entrepreneurial talents, serving regional economic construction and development. In the past three years, its students have received 10 international, 665 national, and 1,344 provincial-level awards, cultivating innovative enterprises that have an estimated value of over 100 million yuan ($13.92 million) and that have received over 100 million yuan in financing.

South China Normal University has created an innovative talent cultivation model with its "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Pioneer Training Camp". Since 2018, it has held an innovation and entrepreneurship week, realizing the full coverage of innovative and entrepreneurial education.
