Tianhe launches preferential policies for college graduates

Guangzhou's Tianhe district recently launched a series of preferential policies to help college graduates find jobs or start businesses in the district.

A one-time bonus of 10,000 yuan ($1,396.10), as well as a yearly rent subsidy of 6,000 yuan for a maximum of three years, will be granted to students enrolled in colleges, secondary vocational schools and technical training schools, graduates who are currently within five years after their graduation date, and returnees who have graduated abroad within five years after their graduation date that want to launch start-ups. The enterprises must also be registered for six months in the district, and have employees that have paid social insurance for three consecutive months before applying for the bonus.

Entrepreneurship projects that win the excellence prize or above at the "Win in Guangzhou" Entrepreneurship Competition shall be given a one-time reward of 50,000 to 200,000 yuan if they get a business license in Guangzhou within two years from the date after receiving an award, go through tax and social insurance registration procedures, and have three or more employees.

Graduates from colleges, vocational schools and technical training schools that are of the legal employment age and have registered their company in Guangzhou, can apply for a start-up guarantee loan of up to 300,000 yuan, and if they have five or more employees, the maximum amount of loans can be extended to 500,000 yuan. The loan term shall not exceed three years at a time.

Small and micro businesses registered in Guangzhou that employ college graduates with more than one-year labor contracts, account for 15 percent of its employees, and have no serious illegal credit records, can apply for a start-up guarantee loan of up to 5 million yuan up to three times. The loan term shall not exceed three years at a time.

College graduates who are currently within two years after their graduation date, have registered as flexible employment at public employment and talent service agencies and have paid basic endowment and social medical insurances personally, will be given a monthly subsidy of 800 yuan.

College graduates who are currently within two years after their graduation date, are employed and have signed a labor contract for a term of over one year at small and micro enterprises, private enterprises, social organizations and social management and public service positions in towns and communities, can receive a subsidy of 3,000 yuan.

Students who will graduate in the current year from colleges, vocational schools and technical training schools in Guangzhou, and are from families with financial difficulties, in extreme poverty or have a disability, are eligible for a subsidy of 3,000 yuan.
