Over 7,700 enterprises above the designated size have resumed production in Guangzhou's Tianhe district as of Dec 3, according to Huang Kaixuan, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tianhe District Committee who also serves as executive deputy head of the district. He made the remarks at a news conference held that day.

This designation refers to enterprises with annual sales in excess of 20 million yuan ($3.13 million).

Over 18,000 catering firms, 219,000 wholesale and retail enterprises and 122 industrial parks in the district have resumed operations and production, Huang added.
