The high-quality development of the building economy in the Tianhe central business district (CBD) has brought new development opportunities to its resident enterprises.

Since its settlement at the Guangzhou International Finance Center (IFC) in the Tianhe CBD last September, Xiaomayi Doctor Group has signed contracts with 153 hospitals. This rapid business expansion was a quick break that Zhang Zhenying, the group's founder, didn't expect.

"At first, I settled in Guangzhou for its market development potential," Zhang said. "But now, the building services and business environment here have become our strong support."

Zhang noted that the district government has also helped the company get into contact with many supply-chain resources and manufacturers.

"For foreign trade enterprises, things like a smooth communication network are also a factor that influences office space selection," said Li Facheng, head of the Guangzhou branch of Hapag-Lloyd China.

The Guangzhou International Commercial Center (Guangzhou ICC) applies AI face recognition technology at entrance and exit points. This technology, in collaboration with the building's channel control system, realizes remote call and automatic dispatch functions.

"5G technology and big data have been used in every procedure for this building, including cleaning, elevator dispatching, parking, and a 24-hour robot patrol," said Liang Yandan, assistant general manager at the northern Tianhe branch of Yuexiu Commercial Real Estate Investment Management Co.

"Besides building services, enterprises here also expect to expand their cooperation circles so as to link with more resources through commercial building connections," said Liang.

In 2020, the "6 stewards + 2 platforms" model was launched for enterprises settling in buildings in the Tianhe CBD. This offered enterprises a platform for the digital transformation.

To date, the platform has gathered over 2,000 enterprises, over 1,000 cooperative enterprises and over 50 industrial associations.

In addition, Tianhe has launched several preferential measures to help boost the rapid development of enterprises based in the Tianhe CBD. This includes a one-time rental subsidy ranging from 200,000 yuan ($28,709.56) to 1.2 million yuan for qualified enterprises.
