Construction on the Kezhu-Kelin Road Tunnel's auxiliary lanes and sidewalks, as well as afforestation work, was recently completed.

It marked the point when the whole tunnel – a new channel linking the districts of Tianhe and Huangpu districts in South China's Guangzhou city – was opened to traffic.

The completion of the tunnel is also seen as being of great significance to promoting the economic and social development in the eastern part of Guangzhou.

The tunnel starts from Huangpu's Kuzhu Road in the north, passes the Kelin Road intersection and ends in Tianhe's Zhuji Road. It is about 853 meters long and has a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
