May 22 marked the 24th International Day for Biological Diversity. Let's encounter some beautiful creatures in Guangzhou's Tianhe district!

Tianhe boasts an excellent natural environment and rich natural resources. Silver pheasants, a national second-class protected animal, are widely distributed in the  Huolu, Longyandong, and Fenghuang mountains. [Photo/WeChat account: tianhefabu]

The Pangolin Protection Research Center, established by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, is situated in Tianhe, at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain in the district. The center was established in February 2024. [Photo/WeChat account: tianhefabu]

The South China National Botanical Garden is dedicated to the conservation of endangered plant species. Currently, it houses 970 rare and endangered plants under ex-situ protection and safeguards 496 species of wild plants under State protection.
