Guangzhou International Financial City is shaping a robust industrial framework known as "one core, one inner core, and three wings". At its core is the financial industry, supported by new-generation information technology to drive digital development. The city also focuses on modern commerce and trade, high-end professional services, and emerging industries to advance its "digital+" strategy.

Its starting area has attracted 14 financial institutions, including China Guangfa Bank and China Pacific Insurance. The eastern area hosts two financial institutions, such as Macao-based Luso International Banking, four tech headquarters, like Kugou Music, and three construction enterprises.

In the northern area, the emphasis lies on cultivating a "digital+" culture, fostering digital creative industries such as music, games, animation, and e-sports. Meanwhile, the western region is poised to lead in artificial intelligence and creative design in the near term, with long-term plans to bolster finance, commerce and trade, and high-end professional services.
