Museum puts spotlight on Qing Dynasty artist Hua Yan

An exhibition featuring the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) artist Hua Yan (华嵒) kicked off in the Guangdong Museum in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, on Wednesday.

The show titled Elegance, Refinement, Style, Paintings of Hua Yan exhibits more than 70 pieces/sets of exquisite works, with precious cultural relics accounting for more than 90 percent, collected by eight units from Guangdong, Liaoning, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces and Tianjin municipality.

And many exhibits are being displayed to the public for the first time.

The show is the first systematic and concentrated exhibition of Hua Yan's paintings in Guangdong province and also the first domestic exhibition of original works with Hua Yan's paintings as the theme.

The show, which will come to an end on Oct 7, integrates exhibition, research and education, emphasizing the revitalization of cultural relics.

And digital technology helps display and create an immersive exhibition experience, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in Hua Yan's paintings to explore and sense the charm and beauty of mountains and rivers, as well as the the poetic and picturesque scenery from Hua Yan's works.

Hua Yan (1682-1765) was known for his flower and bird, figure and landscape paintings.
