Tianhe welcomes institute for new drugs

The unveiling ceremony for the Guangzhou Bay Area Institute of New Drugs and Guangzhou KINO Biomedical Technology took place on Aug 13 in Tianhe district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

Guangzhou KINO Biomedical Technology was established by Ma Dawei, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It will focus on the development of new-generation targeted drugs for precision therapy.

The Guangzhou Bay Area Institute of New Drugs was set up by the company's core team. It will be built into an internationally high-level platform for scientific research, industrial development and enterprise incubation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta region.

The institute's move to Tianhe is also said to be committed to boosting the development of the district's life health industry. It's expected to lead to the formation of new-quality productivity in the district and create new growth drivers for its high-quality development.
