Tianhe flower market: Where culture meets sports
As Chinese New Year approaches, the Tianhe Spring Festival Flower Market is set to greet citizens from Jan 25 to 29.
This year, the flower market is set to be situated south of the Olympic Sports Center branch of Utopa Shopping Center, which features 246 stalls. Among them are 210 stalls offering fresh flowers, handicrafts, and goldfish, 26 public welfare stalls for intangible cultural heritage items and poverty alleviation products, along with 10 themed flower shows.

Incorporating elements of sports, the event is set to serve as a prelude to the 15th National Games, set to take place in November this year.
The layout of the stalls resembles a running track, and the archway is creatively designed in the shape of a "sports ribbon", echoing the architectural style of the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center. An exhibition is scheduled to showcase the stories of Tianhe's participation in various sporting events, such as the sixth National Games and the Guangzhou Asian Games, emphasizing the district's vibrant sports culture and spirit.

In addition, the flower market is set to host a series of carnival activities, including cultural performances, folk customs exhibitions, dragon and lion dance parades, and interactive programs. Visitors can also explore the intangible cultural heritage and creative exhibitions featuring traditional crafts and art forms unique to the district.
Furthermore, the flower market is set to coincide with Utopia's New Year Goods Festival, allowing citizens to shop while savoring delicious snacks and soaking in the festive atmosphere.
