The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) ranked 1st in the 2021 city-level comprehensive city management assessment, according to local news reports on April 7.

The zone has established a unified city management and operation center online, making possible the free flow of data resources among urban management, transportation, planning, construction, and emergency response departments.

Now, only liquefied gas tanks with unique QR codes for identification can be refilled at gasholder stations.

Under orders from the municipal government, WEDZ will construct a total of 34 bridges, 17 of which have already been completed and the rest of which will be completed by the end of April.

The large-scale use of intelligent equipment in areas administered by the zone has made city management more precise and orderly.

The implementation of the road chief system, under which every road is the zone is governed by a specific official, has allowed existing problems to be detected and addressed in a more timely manner. Between the September of last year and now, the system has been carried out on more than 300 roads in the zone, and about 170,000 problems have been revealed, 99 percent of which have been resolved.
