A national extreme sports competition was held from Oct 19 to 20 in Nantaihu New Area in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The competition, which was divided into two categories – extreme roller skating and parkour, attracted 220 extreme sports enthusiasts from all over China.

Group stage games were held on Oct 19, while the finals were held on Oct 20.

In addition, the organizing committee arranged several interesting performances during the competition, including street dancing, water yoga and acrobats, in order to liven up the proceedings for visitors.

This year's competition was shown on CCTV-5, the sports channel operated by China Central Television, on Oct 22.

The competition has been held in Huzhou every year since it began in 1999.

Thanks to the competition, the city has become a popular destination among extreme sports enthusiasts in China and has been designated as "the city of extreme sports" by the General Administration of Sports of China.

In recent years, Huzhou has been dedicated to developing competitive sports and implementing the national fitness program. It has held a series of competitions, including a yacht race and an international road cycling race, said local authorities.
