The campus of Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power located in Huzhou's Nanxun district broke ground on Nov 25, according to local media reports.

The university is the first to set up a campus in Nanxun district.

Founded in 1953, Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power was jointly constructed by the Ministry of Water Resources and Zhejiang provincial government

The new campus, situated in Nanxun town and covering a total area of 1,271 mu, is expected to accommodate 15,000 faculty members and students after it opens in September 2022.

Its architectural style will be specially designed to blend in with the ancient water town in Jiangnan, the region south of the Yangtze River.
