The third Western Returned Scholars Association International Think Tank Forum commenced in Huzhou, Zhejiang province on June 22.

The forum, titled "Chinese-style Modernization: Green Ecology and Sustainable Development", drew over 150 representatives from more than 10 countries, including China, the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Russia. Among the attendees were esteemed experts, scholars, think tank representatives, and students engaged in international studies.

Ding Zhongli, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and president of the Western Returned Scholars Association, attended the opening ceremony.

A pivotal moment during the forum was the unveiling of the Huzhou Initiative for International Think Tank Cooperation on Ecological Civilization. This groundbreaking initiative advocates for international think tanks to embrace principles of openness, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing, uniting to lend their expertise and resources towards advancing global sustainable development.

Later in the day, the forum hosted three concurrent sub-forums, each delving into critical topics such as climate change and carbon neutrality, innovative development of non-carbon energy industries, and ecological agriculture and rural vitalization.
