The 21st grassland culture forum opened in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Jan 12-13.

Bu Xiaolin, chairwoman of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and some 300 artists, experts, scholars and journalists from China, Russia and Mongolia attended the meeting to exchange ideas for the preservation and innovation of grassland culture.  

The forum includes activities of the opening ceremony and five sub forums such as preparatory meetings for the International Energy Conference and Arxan Forum.

Ai Lihua, vice-chairwoman of Inner Mongolia delivered keynote speech on the integration of culture and tourism industries during the forum, stressing that the region welcomes great opportunities in culture and tourism industries.

During the past decades of years since reform and opening up, Inner Mongolia has witnessed dramatic changes in economic and cultural development.

Grassland culture, as a major part of traditional local culture, has been a main focus of the government's efforts in pushing forward cultural development.
