Hulunbuir National Economic and Technical Development Zone
Established in March 2012, Hulunbuir National
Economic and Technical Development Zone combines former Hulunbuir
Economic Development Zone, Hulunbuir Industrial Park, Chen Barga Banner
Industrial Park and Hailaar Industrial Base.
With a planned area of 342 square kilometers, a core area covering 103 sq km
and a 600-sq-km management area that includes three towns and eight villages,
the zone can house 50,000 people and was approved in 2013 as a national economic
development zone.
The zone strives to develop eight key industries – coal power, metallurgical
processing, bio-medicine, equipment manufacturing, deep processing of
agricultural and livestock products, high technologies, new building materials
and modern services.
In 2014, the zone’s industrial output value reached 50.24 billion yuan ($7.59 billion), up 35.66 percent year-on-year. The added value, sales revenue, tax revenue and profit reached 23.22 billion yuan, 47.06 billion yuan, 5.81 billion yuan and 6.48 billion yuan, respectively, with increases of 14 percent, 39.18 percent, 12.37 percent and 11.66 percent.
