Inner Mongolia Baotou Shiguai Industrial Park

Inner Mongolia Baotou Shiguai Industrial Park, located in the southwestern part of Shiguai district, Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is used for the processing of magnesium alloy, new-style metallurgical materials as well as their applications.

The industrial park was established in May 2001. It was approved as a region-level industrial development zone in May 2006, and as an industrial recycling economic demonstration zone in 2009. In 2011, the park’s total assets exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.51 billion), and, in 2014, it expanded its area from 1.84 to 60.4 square kilometers.

The park is composed of one sub park and three zones with 87 companies. The operating revenues reached 16 billion yuan in 2014, with a special steel production capacity of 3 million tons, a magnesium alloy capacity of 120,000 tons, coal coking capacity of 1.6 million tons, 300,000 tons of coal tar and 10 million tons of coal washing products.

It is devoted to being an autonomous-region featured industrial demonstration zone engaged in production of silicon magnesium alloy, special steel and comprehensive utilization of coal resources.
