Bailang peak, which has a stunning vantage point from which to take in the winter landscape coated by the filigree of frost known as rime, lies about 35 kilometers from downtown Arxan city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Because of its extreme range of temperature differences separating day and night -- as well as its luxuriant forest -- Bailang Peak is the land of rime in winter.
