Inner Mongolia's foreign trade hits 68.07b yuan in H1
The foreign trade of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region hit 68.07 billion yuan ($10.21 billion) in the first six months of 2022, representing an increase of 17.3 percent compared with the previous year and 7.9 percentage points higher than the national foreign trade growth rate, according to statistics from Hohhot Customs.
The region's exports came in at 29.25 billion yuan during the period, seeing an increase of 32.6 percent year-on-year, while its imports reached 38.82 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent.
General trade accounted for the highest portion of Inner Mongolia's foreign trade value at 69 percent.
General trade imports and exports of Inner Mongolia were valued at 46.99 billion yuan and saw a year-on-year increase of 21.5 percent.
Private enterprises led Inner Mongolia's foreign trade, with the value of their imports and exports reaching 45.49 billion yuan, an increase of 22.3 percent and accounting for 66.8 percent of the region's total foreign trade.
During this same period, the value of imports and exports of State-owned enterprises was 17.07 billion yuan, an increase of 0.01 percent, while that of foreign-invested enterprises came in at 5.46 billion yuan, an increase of 48.8 percent.
Additionally, the city of Bayannuur saw the highest trade among cities and leagues in Inner Mongolia with a value of 15.32 billion yuan. It was followed by the city of Baotou at 11.59 billion yuan, Hohhot at 9.93 billion yuan, and Ordos at 7.55 billion yuan.
Inner Mongolia's imports and exports to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) saw significant growth at 17.6 percent and 13.9 percent, respectively.
