Inner Mongolia contributes to national power supply

Since the beginning of this year, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has conscientiously implemented multiple measures to guarantee the national power supply.

Plans are for the region to increase the guarantee of thermal coal supply, strengthen thermal coal supply scheduling and inventory monitoring, and ensure that the coal storage level in power plants remains within a reasonable range.

It also continues to reasonably arrange power unit maintenance, and do a good job in monitoring power operation on a regular basis.

"This year, the guarantee of thermal coal supply has been further strengthened," stated an official from the region's energy bureau.

The coal storage in 77 key power plants within the region has remained at about 11.8 million metric tons. This is an increase of 4 million tons over the same period last year. The average length of time that coal in storage is 17 days, and the power generation capacity is sufficient.

The latest statistics from the region's statistical bureau show that since the beginning of this year, the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size in the region has maintained its first place status in the country.

From January to November, the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size in the region was 583.18 billion kWh, accounting for 7.6 percent of the national power generation, and shows an increase of 0.3 percent when compared with the same period from the previous year.
