Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will offer 100,000 yuan ($13,995) in ice and snow shopping vouchers and 5 million yuan worth of discount coupons, allowing visitors and residents to fully enjoy the fun of winter sports.

That's in the wake of the official start of the city's integrated cultural, sports, tourism and business promotions campaign on Dec 19.

Adding to the excitement, Yang Xiaoli – the Inner Mongolian native and world women's boxing champion – has been appointed as the ambassador for the Inner Mongolia All-Season Sports and Tourism Carnival.

From Dec 26 to Feb 26, the Hohhot sports bureau will organize a series of ice and snow activities.

The Donghe Ice Rink, covering an area of 190,000 square meters, will host 13 events and activities – including ice and snow carnivals, snow karting, banana boats and ice bumper cars.

Additionally, more than 30 popular ice and snow activities for the public will be held. These include the Hohhot Urban Winter Games, the Winter Cross-Country Races, the First Inner Mongolia University Student Skiing Challenge and the Youth (Student) Open Skiing Competition.
