In the blueprint of the Belt and Road Initiative, Iraq, as an important country along the route, has been strengthening its exchanges and cooperation with China.

The Nantong Calligraphy and Traditional Chinese Painting Research Institute has contributed to the cultural exchange between China and Iraq in a unique way - sending the Chinese character "fu" to Iraq.

These calligraphy works were brought to Iraq by cultural exchange envoys commissioned by the institute. Their first stop was a renowned school in the capital city of Baghdad. In the school auditorium, the display table was covered with artworks from Nantong, with the bright red Chinese characters standing out under the lights. The envoys elaborated to the teachers and students on the profound meaning of "fu" in Chinese culture, symbolizing happiness, auspiciousness, and good wishes.

Subsequently, the cultural envoys ventured into Iraqi communities, delivering the calligraphy works to residents. They expressed their love for Chinese culture and cherished the blessings they received.

At the National Museum of Iraq, the envoys engaged in an in-depth cultural exchange symposium with local cultural scholars. During the meeting, the calligraphy works were highlighted, sparking lively discussions and a sincere admiration for Chinese calligraphy.

This blessing-giving activity by the Nantong Calligraphy and Traditional Chinese Painting Research Institute has stirred a warm response in Iraq, enhancing cultural exchange and friendship between the people of the two countries.
