The countdown has begun to complete the Haimen-Taicang Yangtze River Tunnel shield machine, the world's longest underwater highway tunnel. These days, at the construction site, over 300 workers shuttle through the work well, making final preparations for debugging the shield machine.
Nantong Railway Station Comprehensive Passenger Transport Hub
Construction of the project resumed on the eighth day of the Chinese New Year, with around 600 workers actively engaged on-site. Once completed, the passenger transport hub will become the core hub for urban passenger distribution, ensuring efficient, convenient, and seamless transfers.
In 2024, Nantong's transportation sector completed a total investment of 28.6 billion yuan ($3.93 billion), accounting for over one-eighth of the provincial share. In 2025, Nantong will accelerate the upgrading of hub capabilities, with plans to complete 19.5 billion yuan in investments in provincial major transportation infrastructure construction throughout the year.
