14 companies from NETDA rank among Nantong's top 50 manufacturers

Fourteen companies from the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) have been included on the 2024 list of the city's top 50 manufacturing companies, which was released on Feb 5. This accounts for 28 percent of the total number of companies on the list, the highest proportion among all districts and industrial zones in Nantong.

The companies selected include established foreign-invested businesses, traditional home textile companies, and leaders in the new energy and pharmaceutical industries.

Luolai Group, a well-known name in the home textile industry, stands out for its innovative approach. The company is home to NETDA's first "dark warehouse", a fully automated system that uses robots for storage and retrieval, saving time, reducing labor costs, and promoting sustainability. Additionally, Luolai has built a smart embroidery workshop, increasing production efficiency by 25 percent, improving equipment utilization by 10 percent, and reducing production cycles by 50 percent.

According to company representatives, with strong support from NETDA, the first phase of the company's smart industrial park has been completed and will soon be put into operation. The smart park will undergo upgrades in precision, automation, and digitization, with expected improvements of 50 percent in output per unit area, a twofold increase in per capita output, a 50-percent reduction in labor costs, and a more-than 40 percent reduction in production cycles, setting it apart from Luolai's existing factories.
