Wuya stone village is a traditional residential complex made of stones, which is rare in south regions inhabited by ethnic groups. The village gets its name from all residents living in Shiya with the surname Wu.
The stone houses in Wuya are courtyard-style, which reflects the characteristics of northern Chinese dwellings. The walls of the houses are piled with stone bricks thicker than four fingers. There is no mud or sand but the walls are so strong that it can resist corrosion from wind, rain, fire and ice.
