Plants in Nanyang gardens equipped with info cards
Recently, information cards with special QR codes have been placed on plants at local gardens throughout Nanyang, Henan province, offering people some basic information about the trees and flowers in the gardens.
In Tiaowan Garden along Baihe Road, plants have been equipped with green information cards that include their names, species, aliases, and a brief introduction. Both their Chinese and English names are included on the card. At the top right corner of each card is a QR code that can be scanned for more information about the plant. Some local gardens are also using red-colored cards that include a brief description and a QR code.
Nanyang has a huge variety of plants throughout its many gardens, so people often forget the names of the plants they have seen. The information cards have become popular among Nanyang locals for being clear and concise.
Nanyang's municipal bureau of landscapes has put up information cards with English on them in 31 gardens, allowing foreign tourists who don't know Chinese to read them as well. Over 600 cards have been put up throughout Nanyang.
