High-speed railway set to open in Nanyang
The track of the Nanyang section of Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway measures 148.7 kilometers.
The track of the Nanyang section of a high-speed railway running from Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, to Wanzhou in Southwest China's Chongqing has been completely laid out.
The section, which measures 148.7 kilometers, will be the first high-speed railway that connects the city Zhengzhou and Wanzhou. The designed speed will reach 350 kilometers per hour, according to engineers.
At present, auxiliary equipment such as sub-lines and communications is under construction as part of final preparations for the whole Henan section of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway to enter the joint test stage in August and open to traffic at the end of 2019.
The Henan section, which is 350.825 kilometers in length, started construction on October 31, 2015.
The roadbed work took more than three years and track-laying work started on April 18, 2019.
When the high-speed railway is completed, the journey time from Chongqing to Zhengzhou will be shortened to less than four hours from around 17 hours.
