Nanyang plans to invest 13.8 billion yuan in water conservancy
According to the Nanyang Water Conservancy Bureau, Nanyang plans to invest 13.8 billion yuan ($2.13 billion) in 140 "Four Waters and Simultaneous Governance" projects to improve the city's ecological construction level this year.
The "Four Waters Governance" is to coordinate the promotion of water resources, water ecology, water environment and water disaster management.
The start-up rate of the projects will reach 50 percent by the end of March and all projects will be started by the end of June.
The ten key projects are: dredging and expansion of Hanshan Reservoir in Fangcheng county, dredging and expansion of Yahekou Reservoir, Tangbai River governance (Xinye county, Wancheng district, and urban-rural integration demonstration area), water system connectivity in Wolong district and comprehensive treatment of rural water systems, continued construction and modernization of Yahekou Irrigation district, comprehensive management of the groundwater over-exploitation area in Tanghe county, Danjiang River management in Xichuan county, continuous water-saving renovation of Hushan Irrigation district in Tanghe county, Tonghe River management in Tanghe county and key city water and soil conservation engineering.
