Nanyang plans to build hospitals

According to the Nanyang City Health Work Conference the city plans to increase its efforts to promote the construction of major health projects this year. A number of newly built and expanded hospitals are about to emerge.

The total investment in the new district Central Hospital is 2.578 billion yuan ($ 397.27 million), and the annual investment is 750 million yuan. The city will strive to complete the main body and 50 percent of the secondary structure before the end of the year.

The total investment of the Municipal Emergency Medical Rescue Center and the Municipal Medical Emergency Material Reserve Center is 88 million. It plans to make an annual investment of 80 million yuan, and will strive to complete the main body before the end of the year.

Every effort will be made to complete the two resumption construction projects of the City Orthopedic Hospital and the City Stomatological Hospital by October with an annual investment of 390 million yuan.

The reconstruction and expansion project of the new district of the Municipal Eye Hospital will operate at an annual investment of 76 million yuan, and the reconstruction, expansion and relocation tasks will be completed by October.

Preliminary procedures for the third phase of the Municipal Infectious Disease Hospital and the Municipal Mental Hospital will be sped up and construction will start before the end of the year.

The Municipal Maternity and Child Health Hospital (Municipal Children's Hospital) has accelerated both pre-project site selection and project approval.

The Municipal Orthopedic Hospital, the Municipal Eye Hospital, the Municipal Stomatological Hospital, and the Municipal Mental Hospital will upgrade their quality and strive to be promoted to a tertiary specialist level.

In addition, by 2022 all counties and districts will have one to two geriatric hospitals as well as  rehabilitation hospitals or nursing homes, 50 percent of general hospitals at the second level and above will have geriatric departments, and more than 80 percent of medical institutions will offer elder-friendly medical care.
