Nanyang won 13 accolades at the 2020 Henan Province Science and Technology Awards on March 22, according to the Nanyang Science and Technology Bureau.

The awards, established by the provincial government, are handed out once a year. Nanyang won two first prizes, six second prizes, and five third prizes in the Provincial Science and Technology Progress category this year - the highest number of awards it has received in recent years.

The two first prizes went to projects entitled "Energy-saving and environmentally-friendly light generators" completed by Wolong Electric Nanyang Explosion-proof Group Co., Ltd. and other units including Muyuan Food Co., Ltd. and the "Creation of safe and environmentally-friendly intelligent pig raising technology system and industrial application".

Six achievements, including the "R&D and industrialization promotion of key technologies for carat diamond cultivation" completed by Zhongnan Diamond Co., Ltd., and "Key technologies and application of global intelligent photoelectric detection for intelligent security fields" completed by Henan Zhongguang Group Co., Ltd. won the second prize.

Five achievements won the third prize, including the "Intelligent and environmentally-friendly integrated high-proportion recycled asphalt mixing equipment" completed by Nanyang Yalong Road Construction Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and the "Turbine R&D and industrialization of key technology for green manufacturing of turbocharger sub-assembly" completed by Xixia County Zhongde Auto Parts Co., Ltd..
