Completion of moat’s West line in Nanyang scheduled for May 1
According to a statement by Nanyang Municipal Engineering Corporation on March 26 the western line of the comprehensive moat treatment project in Nanyang is expected to be completed on May 1.

The starting point of the moat is at Renmin Park and the total length of the river is 4.5 kilometers.
The river is divided into east and west lines. The length of the east line is 1.974 kilometers (east from the Renmin's park west of the experimental middle school to the south Caishijie Gate Bridge), and the west line is 2.565 kilometers (to the south of People's Park east of the parking lot of Datong Department Store Caishi Street Zhakou Bridge on the Wenliang River).
The east-west line flows into the Wenliang River after leaving Caishi Street. The content of the project mainly includes source control and pollution interception, river dredging, shoreline improvement and ecological water replenishment.
The temporary sewage interception project across the moat was completed in December 2019. So far, the project has completed the laying of about 5,054 meters of sewage pipe, accounting for about 56 percent of the total length, completed the laying of about 4,236 meters of rainwater pipelines, accounting for about 48 percent of the total length, and moved about 248,700 cubic meters of earth.
The relocation of the project was officially launched in August 2019. A total of 830 households and 25 public construction units needed to be relocated.
It is expected that the main body of Xiguaijie Bridge will be completed before March 29, when an overflow dam will be installed. The river excavation, dredging, revetment works in the area from the south gate of the park to the Hongdu pedestrian bridge and the Hongdu pedestrian bridge will be completed before April 20, as will Minzhu Street Pedestrian Bridge.
