According to the Nanyang Municipal Party Committee Publicity Department, the city carried out software legalization work, cracked down on Internet infringement and piracy and established the Nanyang City Copyright Protection Mediation Center last year to create a better business environment.

The city has conducted spot checks on the use of genuine software in 25 units, randomly inspecting 2,557 desktop computers, 407 portable computers and 55 servers. The awareness of copyright protection among Party and government agencies, enterprises, institutions and social organizations in the city has been raised, as has the awareness of all units of the software legalization work.

In addition, the city had dispatched more than 1,260 law enforcement personnel, inspected more than 600 publication operating units, filed and investigated seven cases, confiscated more than 2,260 illegal publications and inspected more than 400 websites by the end of last year.
