This year's "Bird Love Week", to be held in Nanyang from April 21 to 27, will have the theme "Love Birds and Protect Birds in Harmony", according to the Nanyang Forestry Bureau.

During the week, the city will hold a series of themed activities, including the "Ecological Nanyang Bird Paradise" Nanyang Bird Photography Competition.

A highlight of this year's "Bird Love Week" in Nanyang, the competition will be open to photographers inside and outside the province, but will seek to gather the best images of Nanyang's various birds from the past two years.

The entry period for the photographic works - divided into categories including "Birds and Humans" and "Birds and Cities" - will last from April 21 to October 31. In terms of prizes, there will be one gold prize (group), with a prize of 5,000 yuan; three silver prizes (group), each with a bonus of 2,000 yuan; 10 bronze awards (groups), with a bonus of 1,000 yuan each; and 60 outstanding works (groups), each with a bonus of 300 yuan. In addition to holding a bird photography competition, Nanyang Forestry Bureau will also carry out environmental education in school classrooms during Bird Love Week. It will designate "Nanyang City Youth Ecological Moral Education Advanced Units", perform readings of "A Good Book", recommend bird-loving science books to minors, and organize activities such as "Planting Love Trees", "Little Envoys of Love" and "Little Guardians of Love".
