The 14th Five-Year Plan period is a key stage for Nanyang to build an emerging regional economic center, as well as to accelerate the construction of a national comprehensive transportation hub, and build a high-quality large city.

The municipal transportation bureau has focused on the high-quality construction of a national comprehensive transportation hub city, and has grasped the key features of investment in the construction of national and provincial transportation infrastructure. Based on the current situation of Nanyang's comprehensive transportation development, it needs to make up for its shortcomings, building a developed express network, a complete trunk network, a wide basic network and a comprehensive transportation hub with complete functions, and a "2112 transportation circle" needs to be formed (that is, "2 hours" arrival in major surrounding cities, "1 hour" arrival from the city to all counties, "1 hour" arrival in neighboring counties, and "2 hours" coverage of all towns and towns in the city area).

Since the beginning of this year, the city's transportation infrastructure construction has completed an investment of 6.18 billion yuan, which is 61.8 percent of the annual target. It has  also made positive contributions to the city's economic and social development.

In the first half of the year, a 17.76 million highway for passenger traffic was completed, and passenger turnover was 1.613 billion person-kilometers, freight volume was 104 million tons, and freight turnover was 37.768 billion ton-kilometers. The cumulative growth rate of passenger and freight turnover was 78.2 percent.

In the central city, 3 new bus lines have been opened, 5 bus lines have been extended, the mileage of newly added operating lines is 25 kilometers, and the total length of the lines has reached 852.8 kilometers.

The highway completed an investment of 3.92 billion yuan. The Luanchuan-Shuanglong section, the Shuanglong-Xixia section of the Zhengzhou-Xixia expressway still under construction, and the Xixia-Xichuan Mading section of the Mianchi-Xichuan expressway are progressing smoothly. The Jiaozuo-Tanghe expressway from Fangcheng to Tanghe, and Ruzhou to Fangcheng, and the construction of the sections from Xichuan to Henan and Hubei Province of the Mianxi Expressway started on March 26.

The construction of the fast-track project from the central city to the Yahe Industrial Zone is progressing smoothly. The early-stage procedures for the three fast-track projects to Zhenping, Guanzhuang, and Sheqi from the outer ring road in the central city are currently being processed.

They have also newly rebuilt 471 kilometers of rural roads, renovated 19 bridges, and completed 210 kilometers of security projects, as well as 1,303 natural villages with hardened roads, which is 76.65 percent of the annual tasks.
