On Aug 26, the Nanyang Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference on the protection of the rights and interests of women and children in Nanyang. The relevant persons in charge of Nanyang Women's Federation, Nanyang Public Security Bureau, Nanyang People's Procuratorate, and Nanyang Intermediate People's Court notified Nanyang's care and protection work measures for women and children, and the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.

Nanyang Women's Federation focuses on anti-domestic violence actions and on incidents involving minors, specifically sexual assault and campus bullying, and actively participates in ensuring the safety of campuses and surrounding areas and protecting minors from the risk of drowning.

In addition, the women's federation has further promoted the "two screenings" programme, involving the health protection of pregnant and newborns, and the "two cancers" relief projects for women with cervical cancer and breast cancer.

The city's procuratorial organs promoted the two special prevention systems of mandatory reporting and entry inquiries, and continued to promote the "rule of law on campus" work.

The city's courts will provide personal safety protection orders for vulnerable groups who suffer from or face the threat of domestic violence, and provide strong judicial protection. In addition, the public security organs have adopted timely and effective measures to intervene in domestic violence incidents that have been discovered in accordance with the law, focusing on special protection for minors, the elderly, the disabled, pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and patients with serious illnesses.
