Opening ceremony of 4th Chinese Farmer's Film Festival held in Beijing

On Sept 19, as one of the major events of the 2021 Chinese Farmers Harvest Festival, the opening ceremony of the 4th Chinese Farmer's Film Festival was held at the Beijing China Agricultural Film and Television Center.

Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee Wang Jian, Chairman of the China Film Foundation Zhang Pimin, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Liu Junyong, Secretary of the Nanyang Municipal Party Committee Zhu Shixi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the China Agricultural Film and Television Center Liu Tianjin, Vice Chairman of the China Film Association Yin Hong, Ning Qiwen, editor-in-chief and deputy party secretary of the China Agricultural Film and Television Center, Ji Lin, secretary and secretary-general of the China Science, Education, Film and Television Association, and Fan Zongchai, secretary of the sub-party group of the China Television Artists Association, vice chairman and secretary-general of the China Television Artists Association attended the meeting. Zhang Pimin announced the launch of the festival.

This year's festival is organized by the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese Film Association, the China Agricultural Film and Television Center, the China Old Liberated Area Construction Association, the China Radio and Television Social Organization Federation, the China Science, Education, Film and Television Association and the Nanyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Nanyang Municipal People's Government.

Zhu Shixi said the film festival will be held in Nanyang on Sept 26. The festival will give full play to the important role of film media in enriching the spiritual and cultural lives of farmers, and effectively promote the in-depth implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy and the development of cultural and artistic undertakings.

In addition, Liu Junyong and Zhu Shixi jointly unveiled the festival's logo. It is a flower-shaped blooming rose with a layered heart that resembles "wan", an abbreviation for Nanyang. The rose shows the prosperity and splendor of Nanyang and demonstrates the unique expressiveness of film.
