4th Chinese Farmer's Film Festival opens in Nanyang
The 4th Chinese Farmer's Film Festival, which kicked off on Sept 26 in Xichuan county, Nanyang, Henan province, is being held in Nanyang for the first time, according to a press conference held to mark the occasion.
At the press conference, Wang Bing, executive vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Nanyang Municipal Party Committee, introduced the situation in Nanyang.
Wang said hosting the festival is a good platform and opportunity to promote Nanyang and promote the development of Xichuan. Xichuan is the core water source area and the head of the canal of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. It is of great significance and far-reaching influence to host such a national event. Nanyang will use the strength of the whole city to organize and host the festival, tell the stories of farmers, and strive to run a high-level and extensive film festival.
This year's festival is organized by the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese Film Association, the China Agricultural Film and Television Center, the China Old Liberated Area Construction Association, the China Radio and Television Social Organization Federation, the China Science, Education, Film and Television Association and the Nanyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Nanyang Municipal People's Government.
Chief director of the festival Gao Guanglei introduced the overall situation of the poverty alleviation-themed movie recommendation activity and the list of 20 films that entered the final review. Ten films were officially unveiled at the festival's opening ceremony on Sept 26. During the festival, 1,000 themed screenings will be organized both online and offline.
