Ningxia's consumer market experienced a significant surge in activity and vitality during the Spring Festival holiday, driven by innovative and immersive shopping experiences.

According to a report from the Ningxia Department of Commerce on Feb 4, the trade-in policy for home appliances and digital products was key to this growth. Over the first seven days of the holiday, the subsidy program attracted 32,500 participants who purchased 14,700 subsidized products, generating over 51 million yuan ($7 million).

Subsidies totaling more than 7 million yuan were distributed, significantly boosting sales of emerging categories such as water purifiers, dishwashers, and robot vacuums. Smartphones and other digital products also saw substantial gains, generating over 37 million yuan.

Ningxia implemented targeted consumer promotion activities, distributing vouchers for dining, retail, and fuel and attracting over 2,300 offline businesses and 10,000 online stores.

Major e-commerce platforms offered exclusive discounts on Ningxia's specialty agricultural products, resulting in sales reaching 400 million yuan.

Commercial complexes across the region embraced the national culture theme, blending traditional cultural elements with modern styles. From zodiac-themed creative products and Hanfu accessories to new Chinese-style home furnishings, these items enjoyed robust sales.

The "silver economy" emerged as a new growth point. Yinchuan's Xinhua Department Store, CCPark, established a special section for seniors and doubled sales of smart health monitoring devices and nutritional products.

Diverse consumption scenarios also fueled growth, with regional dining steadily recovering. Commercial complexes offering one-stop shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences saw significant growth in the first half of the holiday.
