On Feb 12, the "Huaiyuan Youth Intoxicated with Songs" Folk Music Festival took place at Wanda Plaza in Xixia district, Yinchuan city. The event was hosted by the Culture, Tourism, Sports, Radio and Television Bureau of Xixia district to celebrate the Lantern Festival. During the festival, the popular local band Qiyu Folk Band performed a mix of folk and pop music, including songs like "Our Time" and "Once Upon a Time," creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Songs ranging from the subtle melancholy of "Those Years" to the nostalgic themes of "Simple Love" and the urban sentiment of "Chengdu" resonated with the audience, touching their hearts.
In addition to the musical performances, the event offered interactive activities such as enjoying Yuanxiao, watching movies, and giving away plush toys. These activities allowed the audience to experience the warmth and festive spirit of Xixia district while immersing themselves in the music. Local resident Mr. Ma expressed his surprise and delight at being able to enjoy a folk music festival during the traditional Lantern Festival celebrations.
A spokesperson from the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Xixia district said that this folk music festival was part of a series of cultural tourism events planned by the district. The festival, centered around the theme of "Huaiyuan Youth," featured singers with significant market influence performing songs beloved by young people. The goal was to attract the youth to engage in cultural tourism activities and promote the inheritance and dissemination of Chinese mainstream culture.
