Yantai-based CIMC Raffles signed a deal with Akery Group, the largest investment company in Norway aiming to further cooperate in the fields of offshore oil, marine fishery and modular products on March 4.

The cooperative agreement covers the GM4-D series drilling platform, drilling simulation laboratories, industry chain service platforms and joint development in fishery resources.

In 2006 the two sides signed their first cooperative agreement. CIMC Raffles joined hands with MHWirth, a subsidiary of Akery Group in building China's first drilling simulation laboratory.

CIMC Raffles is a world-leading marine engineering enterprise, which has produced more than 80 different types of marine equipment.

In recent years, to accelerate the transformation of growth drivers from old to new, the company has diversified its operations, moving away from the oil industry to also operate in the fishing and tourism industries.

Kristian Røkke, the CEO of Aker Group said that Aker is the largest independent oil developer in Europe. He hoped that the two sides will deepen their partnership in the development of drilling platforms and marine resources.
