Deals worth about 300 million yuan ($46.36 million) were signed during the three-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Investment and Trade Expo in Qingdao, Shandong province from April 26 to 29.
During an investment promotion event, 11 diplomats from SCO member countries, including Moldova's ambassador to China, representatives of business associations, and representatives of key exhibitors helped bring about deals from over 300 buyers in 20 countries.
The Qingdao-based Liqun Commercial Group approached some food companies in Nepal, Belarus, Serbia, and Azerbaijan to import high-quality food from SCO countries.
The expo's offline exhibition, displaying products from 442 enterprises, attracted about 100,000 visitors. Local food from foreign countries such as chocolate, wine, and tea were popular among consumers.
There was also an online edition where over 1,400 enterprises sought business opportunities year-round.
A platform was set up at the event for SCO countries, ASEAN countries, and Portuguese-speaking countries to promote communication and cooperation for investment and trade. More than 40 commercial and scientific research companies attended the online China-Belarus Economic and Trade Cooperation Dialogue, part of the expo.
In addition, 20 projects with a total investment of 66.8 billion yuan were signed to be carried out in the China-SCO demonstration zone in Qingdao. The port city in Shandong province will continue to play a positive role in promoting win-win cooperation between SCO countries.
